Our August Member Spotlight recognizes Jennifer LaScala, a high school art teacher at Sayreville War Memorial High School.

Jennifer Grimm LaScala is the director of Clay In Mind, a statewide juried ceramic exhibition for NJ high school art students. Jennifer facilitates the participation of her own students and coordinates the entire exhibit in collaboration with the world-renown gallery, The Clay Studio, Philadelphia, PA. Recently, Jennifer coordinated the design, execution, and installation of ceramic poppies at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial (Foundation) to honor veterans this past Memorial Day. The poppies were made by her high school students along with art students from Burlington HS, Northern Burlington HS, New Brunswick HS, and Middlesex HS, all NJ high schools. The project received much media attention in the newspaper and on TV.
