SUMMARY:Breakfast and a Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Register Now: Breakfast and a Workshop is presented annually by AENJ’s very own divisional winners! Join us for Breakfast and stay for the workshop. Afterwards\, enjoy a visit to Grounds for Sculpture. \nRegister HERE! \nSessions are: \n\nStep into a Blizzard of Winter Art Projects—a fast-paced flurry of creative ideas designed to spark joy in your classroom all winter long!  I’ll share three student-friendly\, low-stress projects—a shimmering snowflake design\, an irresistible critter-in-the-snow\, and a frosty winter landscape—each packed with opportunities for expressive choice\, texture exploration\, and cross-grade adaptability. These lessons are intentionally simple in materials but big on visual payoff\, shifting routines\, and excited students. Come warm up with some inspiration\, gather a few ready-to-use ideas\, and leave with winter projects your students will absolutely love. Presented by LaNelle Gallagher ~ AENJ Elementary Division Award Winner\n\n\n\nParticipants will look at the history of chairs and then plan one of their own. We will translate our designs into fantastic sculptures! Presented by Rachel Therres ~ AENJ Middle Division Award Winner\n\n\n\n\nLearn the basics of needle felting\, including building a core shape\, layering wool\, sculpting details\, and safely using felting needles. Create a small felted pumpkin suitable for classroom demonstration. Understand how felting fits into a Mixed Media or Sculpture curriculum and how it fosters craftsmanship\, problem-solving\, and tactile exploration. Receive adaptable materials (lesson plan + student handout) they can bring directly to their own classrooms. Presented by Catherine Bethon ~ Secondary Division Award Winner
