March Member Spotlight – Dr. Debbie Greh

This month we honor Dr. Debbie Greh. Debbie’s kindness, calm, objectivity, generosity, and laughter will be greatly missed. She has been a supporter, advocate, and conduit for the creative arts for many years. Debbie’s name is synonymous with the good work of AENJ, having been actively involved with AENJ for over 40+ years. Her career highlights are extensive, she accomplished much to further the cause of AENJ. She will be especially missed as a mentor, a dear friend, the voice of reason, and an ardent advocate for Art Education and the Visual Arts. Below are a few of the highlights of Debbie’s accomplishments:

  • 1999-2017 Executive Board, AENJ
  • 2018, 2001,1999, 1994 Conference Co-Chair
  • Editor, ArtBeat magazine, an AENJ publication
  • 2007 AENJ Distinguished Art Educator of the Year
  • 1991-2002 Consulting Editor, SchoolArts magazine


Debbie received numerous awards on a national, state, and regional level. We honor Debbie for the thoughtful and loving person that she is and ALL things Art that she stood for.
