The Art Educators of NJ is excited to invite you to our signature professional development event, AENJ 2022 Spring Symposium: Outlook/Outcome. This one-day event will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We have selected this date carefully with an understanding of staffing challenges many school districts in our state are facing.
Join AENJ for a powerful day of professional development designed to help you assess and understand your OUTLOOK to develop a deeper understanding of its impact on your classroom OUTCOME. We will explore the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the art room as it relates to our teaching practice, curriculum/lesson design, and pedagogy. This timely content will help all of us as we implementation of the new Visual Arts New Jersey Student Learning Standards in a meaningful way.
The day will feature multiple learning sessions: beginning with a keynote presentation by Dr. Wanda Knight (Penn State, NAEA President-Elect), followed by a choice of breakout sessions related to our event’s focus. Lunch will be on your own (BYO or explore the local restaurants within 5 minutes of the event site), followed by a choice of a self-guided or guided gallery experience. Our day will conclude with a choice of breakout sessions related to our event’s focus.
Registration is limited to 120 attendees. Be sure to register early to ensure your seat! Masks will be required for this event.
