Scott Samuels is an art educator in the West Windsor – Plainsboro School District.
Scott previously served on the AENJ Advisory Council. He is recognized for his personal artistic practice. In his own words:
I have always been a collector. I frequent estate sales and flea markets searching for anything old, unique, beautiful, or useful. Handling a dusty relic connects me to someone unknown; the object functions as a time machine. And the task of remaking old things inspires my artmaking process.
I like vintage design, typography, logos, and especially product packaging, and I am drawn to the bold compositions of Pop Art. Technically, I employ translucency, layering, and texture in my work, often combining collage with paint and other materials.
